Knowing whether or not your modern manufactured or modular home can withstand extreme weather conditions is very important! That’s why we’ve gone through the trouble of looking into the matter, so you don’t have to. Our factory-built homes are compliant with the strict construction and safety standards of the Federal HUD code, and when completed to Champion standards can be virtually indistinguishable from the site-built alternative. In many ways, thanks to our stringent quality control procedures and inspection requirements, our homes can be a better purchase than site-built homes. Federal construction codes require our manufactured homes to be built using high-quality, standardized building materials… the same materials used in conventional homes. According to The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety, the damage sustained by manufactured homes during high winds typically comes from adjacent structures and not from failed components in the home itself.

What actually goes down in a manufactured home factory? 

Step into the fascinating world of factory-built homes as we take you on a visual journey through our manufacturing facility in Sugarcreek, OH. Get a glimpse into the process behind our prefab homes, resulting in high-quality finished manufactured and modular homes. 

From the assembly line to the finishing touches, each photo captures a different stage of production, highlighting the attention to detail that goes into every step. 1. Vast Factory

This photo provides a sneak peek of our vast factories, with several homes being built in a row. It’s easy to see the unique development stages of each home – from the flooring to the walls and the roof – all in one shot.

2. Handy Dandy Tools

To enhance our inventory management, our employees use HOLTEC saws to cut lumber. These saws are designed to cut through an entire unit of lumber rapidly and accurately, saving us time and reducing waste. In this photo, an employee is currently using a HOLTEC saw to cut lumber. 

3. Awe-Inspiring Welding

In the construction of manufactured homes, the chassis is essentially the foundation of the structure; composed of primary steel beams, cross members, axles, leaf springs, and wheels that make up the running gear. Additionally, a steel hitch assembly is included, but it is typically removed for aesthetic purposes. When welding the frame or chassis, it is important to keep these elements in mind.

4. Moving Walls n’ Things

Watch as this team member places a wall onto the floor of a home using a jig to move entire wall sections into place. This not only looks cool, but it’s also incredibly efficient!

5. Taking Care of Business

HONK HONK! The single-section home is complete and ready to leave the manufacturing facility. The next step is to have a tractor pull it out of the factory, followed by a mobile home hauler hooking it up and towing it to the final destination.

When it comes to a home, there are so many places and spaces to focus on. Of course, the kitchen is a focal point for many. And if you’re the homeowner, the primary suite is also very important. For those who enjoy entertaining others, the living room is a space you’ll revisit time and time again. But one space in the home that might go overlooked even though it’s touched by everyone who lives there and visits…is the bathroom!
